Alexandra Palace Television Society

I am Archivist of the Alexandra Palace Television Society, a society to preserve, for present and future generations, the oral and written history of the pioneers who inaugurated the world's first, regular, public high-definition television service from Alexandra Palace, North London, in 1936.

One of our members was W C (Paff) Pafford, who was stationed at Alexandra Palace during the radio counter-measures of WWII. I have seen a discussion thread on the forum that relates to these counter-measures at Alexandra Palace, and have some information that might be of interest to forum members.

My first look at a TV was in the late forties when the screen in a fancy walnut case was viewed through a rectangular glass magnifier.......

The use of commercial transmissions as countermeasures in WW2 makes for fascinating reading so I look forward to you sharing your records.
