Hi Dietmar...
I made various attempts and I have now succeeded, I believe it may have been file size, so I reduced the size and it worked... Thanks for the welcome..
The post is on the Norfolk Memorial page...Regards.

Hi Peter.
I have had an interest in all airfields for many years, researching and helping those that had lost family members during the second world war. Mainly research of USAAF and RAF air crashes. Over the years I have built quite a home library...
I really started following my own fathers RAF carer during wwii, after obtaining his serves records, discovering and visiting the various bases. Polebroke, Lindholme, Stradishall, Ridgewell, Singapore ACSEA.
Along with the 455th AAA unit. I have been heavily involved in my own project of a Mosquito of the 25th BG stationed Watton that crashed close to my home, metal detecting and picking small parts of the aircraft, with the intension to pick up as much as possible, melt down into a crucifix and have the pilot and Navigators names placed on it.

Welcome Tony.

Never heard of Fold3, will check out the link, Son of Chandler has done an exclusive research on the 455th, using his fathers documents and other members of the unit. Recording each and everyone. I should really upgrade the details onto my web site.

Something you may find interesting, I have been around, as many others long time R'n'R / Rockabilly and Elvis fan.
Interestingly when I met the 455th / Rabb members at there reunion in 2003, I was introduced to a chap named James Kirby and cutting a long story short, James told me of his near long term commitment to Elvis, When James Kirby played with a band called the Ripley Cotton Choppers, they recorded 4 tracks at Sun Studios, TN. Sam Philips came up to the band and asked if they would be interested in backing a new young fella on the scene, with one clause, the band was made up of family members, the oldest being there uncle, if they wanted the contract then the uncle had to go, because of his age. The Cotton choppers refused as they came all or nothing, after all who was this new young chap on the block.. I asked him , Any regrets, he looked me in the eyes and said, "YOU BET"............The rest is history.
Sorry to run on, just think its an interesting true story.
