Hello to everybody on the forum.
I'm Brian, living in South Wales.
I've always had an interest in things aviation, my father served in RAF Bomber Command, then Transport Command when all the squadrons were stood down from hostile operations. I've recently been researching his RAF service.
Living where I do, I was a cadet in the ATC in Kenfig Hill and eventually went on to be commissioned to the RAFVR(T) and ultimately command Kenfig Hill squadron as a Flt.Lt.
If any member thinks they might know me, then I'd be pleased to hear from them.

You're wrong this time, I was never at a camp on the sand dunes (Kenfig Burrows) although I did miss-spend a lot of my time in my early years running about there.
I was a cadet in the Air Training Corps at No 2117 squadron, Kenfig Hill, and it was there that I went on to command the squadron at the rank of Flight Lieutenant RAFVR(T).



The aircraft is a Hawker Hunter (unmistakable outline) F1, tail number WT569.

Thanks. Many WW2 military camps and POW camps were used post-war for temporary housing or businesses so I thought it was likely that a ready made hut would be assigned for ATC pending the availability of a permanent home.

Yes, Peter. In the past I have done a few weekend camps with Air Cadets at Penally Camp, about 2 miles west of Tenby in Pembrokeshire on the coast road. I also did a weekend camp again with Air Cadets at a TA camp in Kent. Don't ask me where, it was way back in 1969 or '70, and with age getting in the way now, I've got a job to remember if I had my breakfast this morning .....

I can still remember my service number though, got it tattooed on the inside of my eyelids, just in case!

Regarding the camp in Kent, it wasn't Kent but East Sussex. Just as I was dropping off to sleep last night I remembered that there was a Diplomatic Wireless Servce radio transmitter closeby. A quick look on everyone's favourite search tool took me to Crowborough.
So, the memory isn't that bad, it just takes a bit longer to access the archive these days!
