Lots of air activity this week in Cornwall and the West Country with numerous C17, Hercules and Chinooks bringing in various bits of kit using Culdrose, Newquay and Exeter airports. Civilian looking helicopters from the Hereford area also noted around St Ives. Due to road closures in the Newquay area the best place to view the arrival of Air Force 1 etc. is likely to be from the "clay country" near St Austell.

Arrivals today at NQY have included the Titan Airways A321 operated on behalf of the UK govt. and a Delta Airbus bringing in the US press corps. An RAF Poseidon was patrolling the area for a few hours.

10:20 in the evening, an I note there is a Typhoon race tracking off Cornwall, with a tanker that seems to have been on station quite a while

Earlier in the evening a French AWACS was also race tracking with them off the North Coast.

HM Coastguards King Air, operated by 2Excel and flying out of Culdrose currently on a low level patrol of the North Cornwall coast...

I think these are operated by the Army based out of Thorney Island. They had 10 and have been operating them since 2008 apparently

Do they still have the ex-Argentinian mobile radar that was used as a sort of "radar speed trap" for catching low flying jets not sticking to the rules?

Years ago they asked if they could use one of our tracks at work to get to a local hilltop but they put it somewhere else.

I think 5 Skyguard radars were recovered from the Falklands. 4 of these were refurbished and I think by the time of our visit to Spadeadam in 2018 I think they were operating two in the low level traffic compliance monitoring role. Of course things may have changed since then.
