One Hundred Years of Aviation Friday 1 to Sunday 3 April 2016
On 1 April 1916 the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) Training Establishment, HMS Daedalus, was opened at Cranwell. The Royal Flying Corps (RFC), the air arm of the British Army until the formation of the Royal Air Force (RAF) on 1 April 1918, were also stationed there. Discovernk is teaming up with the Museum at The Manor House Stables in Martin and Heritage and Ethos Centre at RAFC Cranwell, to exhibit a collection of uniforms and artefacts from that era.
