Adobe Scan - a useful tool ?

I may be behind the curve here, but I have not seen it mentioned, so I thought I would tell you about Adobe Scan

Adobe Scan turns your mobile phone into a scanner using the built in camera, it includes edge detection, automatic document detection and capture and the ability to turn a document into a pdf file

I have used it "in the field" so as to speak, by scanning documents while I was away from home, and it also handled scanning an old typewritten document on a very long paper size, that would have been impossible on a conventional scanner with ease

To be clear I have no particular interest in the App, other than having found it useful, available for android and iphone

I bet if it were on a PC it would be a huge programme and not work very well

I am dismayed when I find that my cheap Samsung phone camera takes better pictures in ALL lights than my Canon compact camera that cost £200+ and in many case better than my Canon DSLR (cheaper end). Also it plays video online without constant stopping and doesn't seem to have buffering problems that plague my PC. Perhaps I should strip out all the expensive graphics cards and stuff in my PC and replace it with a mobile phone
