They are both really handy books to have and I am forever reffering to the vol.2. The vol.1 book is in the same format as vol.2 but is smaller in size with black and white photos - no doubt I'll be using it as much as the second volume! Good books to have.

Both volumes are 'classics' in my opinion.

I used to take volume 1 all over the place with me on my airfield explores and it never let me down.

They helped me out so much with building recognition etc etc before i got an internet connection. Can't recommend either volume enough to be honest.

Olympusman - you won't be disappointed. If Vol 1 is anything like Vol 2, then it's an ideal little reference book and just the right size for taking out in the field. Well illustrated with well informed text. Just the right price too! I know a few people have been hunting high and low for Vol 1 for ages and it's good to see it out. Just ordered it myself.

I think these two volumes are great especially for a novice like myself. They provide a good pictorial guide to many 'standard' airfield buildings and being pocket sized...well they fit in your pocket!

Randomly I met Graham (didn't know who he was at the time though) a couple of weekends ago at the Ludlow sunday market where he had a stall and the two volumes sitting there caught my eye instantly. I was lucky to get mine both for £15 with his autograph in both.

Excellent books I bought both a couple of months ago & they have been well used so far, I got mine new from Motorbooks.
