The link below is to a University study done by a gentleman called John Fahey entitled:-
Britain 1939-1945: The Economic Cost of Strategic Bombing
It is a weighty tome - some 488 pages in a pdf document.
I am not sure if this has been linked before and if so - I appologize. There is an interesting section concerning the cost of airfields from around Chapter 5 - page 236 (pdf file page number not document number)
Very interesting compilation document ~ the author recognizes his estimates are likely to be on the light side and I had been lead to believe that these were due to the skill used by ministry officials in reallocating costs ~ first time I've seen the subject of bomb fuse failures expressed at the higher rate ~ found this pdf well worth the time taken to read.
