RAF Badges and Emblems was created by David Thompson
Two books available as free downloads and here thanks to a mention on the PPRuNe Forum ;
RAF Collectors Guide 2020 The final version of my RAF books are now available, free of charge. Anyone who previously requested copies may like to have the latest update. I have written these books as the result of many years of collecting. There are two volumes one of 582 and one of 144 pages of RAF history in badges and emblems. The e-books are available to download here (Large! Not suitable for mobile phones): The link is available for the next 28 days.

Interesting item on Antiques Roadshow yesterday.
Someone had been clearing a house after a family death and found a small RAF badge pinned to a piece of card. The expert recognised its significance even though he had not seen one before and could not even find one being recorded sold, to get an idea of value.
He was sure it was genuine because everything about it was "right"
They were given to the Americans who flew with the RAF in the Eagle Squadron.
I think he estimated it as worth a couple of thousand pounds.

I saw that too. The 1942 on the badge confused me when I first saw it.
