I wonder how much asbestos was used and if it still there? Given that asbestos is a huge money spinner for removal firms due to the perceived danger of asbestos cement board it seems odd to think that in most urban areas we are all breathing in tiny amounts of asbestos dust from the bone dry garage and shed roof coverings. It must be especially worse this summer!
No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
During the final decade of my working life I was involved in what was perceived to be a major asbestos hazard and millions was spent correcting it. I seemed to have been the only person who took the time to read through a detailed report by experts in the field and gaining a full understanding of the different types of chrysotile and comparing our 'problem' test results before realising that 'our' asbestos was non-hazardous. By then the whole thing had become political and the customer - and indeed our own executive - could see only that all asbestos is trouble. It was the Millennium Bug allover again!
