I am sure most are familiar with Historic Environment Scotland's Canmore site, this is being retired in June and replaced by TROVE (not be confused with the Australian TROVE site)

In the email they sent me I was confused by the word 'retiral' as I don't think I had come across it before, although the meaning was clear.  Apparently it is in more common usage in Scotland.

Never occurred to me because it was obvious what they meant.  The Scots do have some odd words and phrases in use but probably so does England.
