Borders have gone into Administration and are having a pre-Christmas/buy-out/closure sale and all Ordnance Survey maps , all series and scale , are half price with most books 20% off cover price and others more . May be worth a visit if you have a local store ?
I called into the one in Charing X Rd yesterday. It felt rather like a jumble sale but it was sobering to think that most of the books which they were selling at 20% off, you can acquire via Amazon at -30%/40%......
Still sad to see the shop go - for many years it's been the best magazine/periodical shop in London.

Ditto for Bristol. Until a year ago there was also a reasonable magazine shop half-a-mile from my home, until it closed.
Often visit a friend in Ulverston. There was a magazine shop there called Greatorex, which had a huge selection. Did a rough count one day - they had around twenty mags alone devoted to angling. RAF News, Navy News etc - it closed last year.
Is this the demise of a large percentage of our magazines?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite
Fads, kill them off. I used to subscribre to PC Magazine, that went and transferred to Personal Computer World, that went and transferred to Computer Active!!!!
The boom seems to be in Genaeology and Celebrity rags. My wife like the former and even my daughters are sick of the latter.
