Happy New Year !!!!

After many attempts (by both past & present museum members) to document the North East Aircraft Museum (NEAM) archive, we're finally in a position to launch our own Archive & Research website - NEAR. It can be found @ NEAviationResearch.org.uk .

There's still a massive task ahead to sort, research and upload the information to 'complete the picture' but thought the New Year would be a good time as any to launch while these developments continue.

Obviously if anyone has additional or new information relating to those subjects covered, the museum would be very interested in hearing from you.

Well done guys. Just had a look at NEAR - it will be a massive resource, even as it develops. Obviously, it will never be complete, but what a good format.

Thought you may like to know that thanks to Mick Davis of Cross & Cockade the locations and summary information of all NE WWI airfields has been uploaded to the NEAR website - www.neaviationresearch.org.uk

Additional new items -
Reports of the BoB at home days & the National Air Races can be found in the events section.

Empire air days & history of Acklington / Ouston / Morpeth & obviously Usworth is planned to be uploaded soon. I've got some decent (unpublished photo's? of Ouston that may be of interest)
