It seems expensive for what it is, anyone know any more about the publication?

That example page shown in Ebay is identical to my photo of the relevant page in AIR10/4038, except mine is a photograph and not straight, and poorish contrast, etc etc.
It's part of this series
Knowing how much effort I went to to to photograph the document (1,000 pics), and then edit them, then the price isn't too bad.
I don't know who is actually producing them.
Bear in mind that 4038 is the 1942 airfield 'census'. AIR10/4039 is the 1944 version and will contain many more airfields - the first extras being Andrewsfield, Anthorn and Appledram. Does this volume contain the extras?
Well worth investigating.

This is the same set I saw at TNA last year. Because the two volumes were not together I thought they were £110 each!. I agree with Carnaby, having started on the larger AIR 10/4039, £110 is not that bad.
I spied "Maintenance" in there as well - is that worth getting? The description doesn't really give yopu a clue as to the contents. I might ask Mrs PNK to get me it for Xmas. I think it was mentioned in another thread as well.

Viewed this volume in the TNA on Saturday; it's a reprint of AIR10/4038. It is therefore of interest to many people, but nowhere near as useful as a document based on AIR10/4039 - many more airfields, more information and higher quality photos. Wonder why 'they' chose to miss a great opportunity.Bear in mind that 4038 is the 1942 airfield 'census'. Don't buy it, I too had a look at this at TNA, its published by the RAF Museum,. Its not worth it, some of the repro is poor and its based on a series of photocopies.

That is a shame as the original is difficult to photo cleanly due to the special protective covering on every page. I must admit I thought it was a bit poor for a professional job. At least it was flat though.
