Hardcover: 216 pages
Publisher: Old Forge; First Edition edition (2008)

Got this book a few days ago and am very impressed.

Loads of info from the Form 540 Operations Record Book with plenty of pictures, maps and even profiles of the various aircraft operating from Aldergrove.

All Squadron Aircrew are also listed.

Super publication.

Its always a bonus to find a book based on the Form 540 ORB instead of the modern trend of using secondary sources. What would clinch it for me however, is an annotated airfield plan and plenty of info and pictures of the airfield buildings.

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Currently available for £11.99 from Postscript Books - along with a couple of others from their military history section which might end up in my Xmas stocking. 'Little Rissington' and 'RAF Germany' are available, the latter being by a well respected author :D.

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Coverage of the ranges used would clinch it for me :)
