Whilst following some obscure trail via Google, I came across an online copy of "Airfield Data" for Australian airfields on the National Archives of Australia website.
Not sure if it contains all airfields or not but looks to be worth a look.

If the link doesn't work search for "Airfield data"

There are a few more simialr books viewable in their entirity. Not everything has been digitised but those that have been are easily identifiable by the pile of paper symbol.
Most digital views have a "read" size (a bit small but quicker for paging through) or "Enlarged (bigger and more readable also easy to save as a jpg file.

The site has a lot on it and as with TNA searching success depends on how the file was titled!
