Volume Two is now out yes £60 but a wealth of detail . Vol 1 is commanding high prices c. £145 now. Mods, this is a niche market from an exceptional writer hope you do not mind the posting just to make members aware.

Has anyone got Volume 1, and if so, is there much on airfield development in the period or does it mainly concentrate on the aircraft and units?

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

No one can deny that the photos are excellent, judging by the samples on the web site it looks to be all about aircraft, though to be fair I have not seen any books yet. Peter you are the expert on post-war airfield development, and having been through a large number of records at TNA on the subject I doubt anyone could tell you anything new.
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!
