Whilst watching a recent doc about the Bermuda Triangle which inevitably included a disproportionate amout of time on the fate of Flight 19, the submersible found other USN Grumman Avengers. The researchers were looking for the 'Bureau Number' on the tailplanes of the wrecks which apparently was unique to each aircraft, as oppose to the squadron ID, which would be swapped around replacement aircraft. Does this Bureau No. correspond to the serial no. that appears on the tailplanes of RAF aircraft - ?
