I'm sure we have covered this before or I have discussed it with someone but what do you search for!
Was there a coded date system used on USAAF documents in WW2? I am ploughing through a few thousand sheets on PDFs and hard copy and noticed that many do not contain a date, so important information that starts with "From immediate effect" cannot be dated. Context can be of some use but frequently only narrows it to a year but even then it could be a copy of a previous years order included for reference.
Anyone come across this problem in their research?
