Control towers was created by firefoxalvis
I came across an image of a control tower with RAF fire trucks in front of it. The tower has the letters ELVn 734 feet can any one identify for me. Thanks

That is a very high airfield!!!! In the UK only one of I can think of that is that high is Little Rissington.

The Military Airfields in the British Isles 1939-1945 doesn't show any with the specific elevation of 734 feet and only three in the 700 plus range:

Little Rissington 750
Haldon 770
Oakhampton 780

The highest, for interest, was Davidstow Moor at 969

Firefox can you post the URL to the image that you saw if itis on-line?

The image was one in an article from Heritage Commercial magazine February 2002 I have seen the image before somewhere on line but I cannot think where.

That doesn't look like it's in the UK. Malta or Cyprus perhaps?

Think you are taking the "Mick" Although the Mk9 was the best "Workhorse" the RAF Fire service had it (from a great MK6 Fan) didn't go from the 1950's until 1990's. It is a MK5A in the picture. Thanks for the joke.
