This spelling anomaly is similar to the Edmondes Gunnery Trainer which is usually and incorrectly referred to as the Edmunds or Edmonds device,

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite :twisted:

I must assume that the pupil used (say) a Vickers MG attached to a representative mounting with limit stops to prevent firing outside the limits of the butt. Probably limited to single shots too. AP 1244 would clarify.
