OK, I think I'm zeroing in on what this hut/cabin/shelter reminds me of. It is a lot like this kind of shelter, which you see around the UK a lot, here and there:

These examples are part of the Olympic Modular Building System made by UK company Glasdon Buildings. They've been around for 50 years, so it is just possible they made the old airfield structure, or if not could provide some leads regarding who did. I'll be dropping them a line!

Here is another Olympic in use at an airfield. Not what I'm after, but you get the idea.

I'm still trying to figure out what make and model this hut is! I got a reply from Olympic, but sadly it isn't one of theirs! The mystery continues...
