Airfield ID from newsreel? was created by P Bellamy
I came across this Pathe newsreel earlier:
www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=52293

The early B-17G wears the marking of the 447th Bomb Group, but the background doesn't seem to match Rattlesden from the RSP I'm looking at.

There should be plenty of clues, control tower with rooftop control room, possible ident lights on the ground, T-2 and Blister hangars are all shown.

Any ideas as to the location greatly welcomed.

All the best,
PB

My first thought was Framlingham but I don't think Blisters were there

I think it could be Great Dunmow, but not 100% certain.
