Unknown Apparatus

Greetings

Found this bit of machinery in the Decon Centre at Charterhall (thanks to JamesT for the lead!) and am scratching my head wondering what its funtion was. Was near the entrance at the opposite end to the towers. The other pic looks like rows of filters.

I hope there's an expert on here who can shed some light

It's a contaminated air scrubber for want of a better description.

It does have a proper name seemingly derived from the designer or manufacturer, but I can't remember what it is at the moment.

So how did this work - I thought it would have been at the clean towers end, but as mentioned it was near the entrance end. Did this "blow" filtered air through the building?

Pretty much, yes.

There was an air pump on the concrete pad in front of the round pipe, which drew air in from the intake tower on the roof, through a rectangular duct from the intake to the top of the filter casing and through the filters.
The filtered air was then pumped around the building to where it was needed through yet more ducting.

Bumping this back up in case someone can remember the proper name for this particular filtration unit, as I've been racking my brain (and the site search function) to no avail...

It's a "Porton Filter" in case anyone was wondering.
