CB and BCF in relation to extinguishing media are 2 different chemical compounds;
CB is Bromochloromethane BCF is Bromochlorodifluoromethane The original Graviner bottles and the secondary media in the Mk6 & 7 crash trucks was CB. The later extinguishers were BCF, the first being the green strike the nozzle and throw away after use, which were fitted on all GSE & MT to replace CTC squirt extinguishers. BCF was also used on the MK9 &10 crash trucks ; In civvy use BCF was commonly called HALON.

Bromochloromethane was the chemical used in aircraft installed Graviner cartridge operated fire extinguishers but I did not know it was carried in bulk on the Mk 6.

I was only jokingly being pedantic with Peter about his spelling of BCF

Now that one IS etched on my brain so the RAF Poster on the hazard must have got through even to an Armourer! But, just to be pedantic it's not a chemical but a fungus:)

Yeah I am working in some tanks at the moment - but no sign of CR...so the Avtur addatives must be working ok LOL

Remember that low pass (John Crewdson?) by a B17 in 'The War Lover'? The aircraft flew through that gap between those two hangars so maybe the photo was taken to help him prepare for the flight..
In 633 Squadron, it was outside that right hand hangar where Donald Houston told Cliff Robertson he was going on the raid with him. I was standing right behind the camera when they shot the take, being a 15 year old ATC Cadet at the time.
