Binners, wouldn't it be best to just find the buildings using the site plan, taking pics, taking notes (stretcher bond construction etc) and giving us a full report on Monday morning?! Or is access a problem?
Access isnt really a problem.
The biggest problem i have is that most of them have been demolished a long time ago.
The site plan i have is a two part plan with airfield bldg numbers, Bldg drawing numbers and description of use.
It was found many years ago in a pile of rubbish at Binbrook before the building was demolished.
Yeah.
A lot of the airfield was quickly demolished after the raf left and the farmers took hold off again.
Just all fields now and a bit of concrete in places.
Interestingly the ILS localiser at the other end of the runway is actually installed on the concrete extension, thus ensuring that any aircraft need in to use this extension would demolish the ILS equipment.

There is a lot of interesting stuff on Filton - worth scrolling around these views. I intend to post something on the appropriate forum soon.
Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite
