I am still very stumped on this one, its not an easy one at all and I have ruled out a lot of places!

It's clearly an admin or HQ site but it could be Army. As the aircraft are flying low it could be near their base but it doesn't rule out further afield if it was low flying practice. Another problem is that the building my no longer exist. On that basis I would suggest Haveringland near Swannington?

Looking at the google earth Pete, the roads and woods definitely match up, The bridge and water look the same and walled garden is there too. I reckon you are on to something on that one. Now to find a pc of the hall

The Hall was demolished in 1947 after being badly damaged. I stayed at the camp site there in 1973 and there were a lot of concrete paths and hut bases then. A very pleasant place to walk around and I suspect a lot of exotic plants may still lurk in the bushes.

Well done Peter. I was working through my US Army base listing but rather clumsy on a tablet PC.

My apology to Richard and Paul for my misidentification yet similar enviro features.

Good call on that but with the original house being demolished in 1947 it misled the search.

Haveringland in Redgrave Park so two names to confuse the unwary.
