9 AFTS were at RAF Wellesbourne Mountford from 1951 to 1954, operating Oxfords, Harvards and Chipmunks. 9 AFTS dealt with pupils who had completed the basic training with 4 Basic Flying Training School at RAF Sywell until 4 BFTS disbanded in 1953.

The history then becomes somewhat opaque. It seems that the aircraft was sold on twice and moved to Hinton in the Hedges and then went via Lydd 19/10/1985 to Munich for a US citizen. Returned to UK at unkown date for c of a renewal at Shoreham-issued 22/10/1989  [previous c of a expired 30/11/1987]
Registered 26/9/1988 to Rudolph T Heinen Worthing - Mr Heinen reserved markings PH-RTH for this aircraft and it is understood that they were painted on it while it was in mainland Europe.-possibly at Lelystad where it had been noted
Registered 9/1/1992 to Dirk Argra Pymans Farm Scarning Dereham
Registered 21/7/1994 to Cornelis Zoeteman -same address
Export c of a application 13/4/2000 by Star Air Service Teuge -last UK "full" c of a expired 13/4/2000 -Mr Zoeteman owner
Permit to fly issued 14/7/2000 until 30/7/2000 for test purposes
Cancelled from UK register 6/10/2000 -Total hours 5558 on 31/12/1999
PH-DET reserved 17/7/2000 for Star Air Service but not taken up

* The Liverpool UAS use is not recorded on the aircraft record card .But from the London and Liverpool Universities ORBs and 41 Group's movement records, the aircraft was one of several returned to White
Waltham after the former's summer camp,  then moved from there to Thorney Island
 
** Trial to evaluate this method for storing Lightning aircraft at 33 MU
 
*** This was the final Chipmunk flight by an aircraft allocated to Southampton University

This Chipmunk was based in Holland; at first at Lelystad as far as known to me and later at Rotterdam Airport. I was fortunate to get a free ride in PH-ZWA some years ago. Some modifications had been made to the engine some years ago. As the owner (C. Zoeteman) lost his licence, the aircraft was ferried to Midden-Zeeland and after some months to Lelystad. During its stay in Holland this Chipmunk did not fly very often. November 27th it was ferried to France via Antwerp, but experienced enginetrouble(?) after take-off from Antwerp and returned to the airfield.
