Great photographs there Stevie !! Good to see some new one's since she stopped flying. Looks like she is well looked after in her retirement home with plenty of visitors :)

Thanks Paul. She never looked this clean & shinny when she was in the RAF ;) .

Yep! she appears to be doing okay for herself in her retirement. She's going outside to the pan on Thursday to run up the engines & they will be running several fast taxys on special open days next year.

....& in other Vulcan news, Woodfords XM603's restoration is pretty much finished (outside work anyway) -

One of the most famous British aircraft ever built has been restored to its former glory thanks to a group of Cheshire volunteers.

The Avro Vulcan was the back bone of Britain's cold war deterrent. And was designed to carry nuclear bombs.

The last remaining flying example was grounded last year and since then they've become museum pieces.

But today Vulcan XM603 was unveiled after 20 weeks of refurbishment.

Yes, indeed but they have still done a good job on it !

Unimpressed by the reporters throwaway suggestion at the end that there was even the remotest possibility that it might fly again though

Absolutely. To be honest a few years ago I thought the aircraft's future was very bleak but she looks fantastic now. They have done a really great job. Must make a trip up there in the coming months & have a closer inspection...just hope there's something of the airfield still to see as well....doubt it somehow though.
