I believe it was an MoD Charter but not 100% sure, it departed at about 1300

A sad sign of the times , a civilian aircraft and a previous eastern block based airline to boot !

The nose resembles the old Comet, otherwise it looks just like any modern airliner with two engines. Whatever happened to those futuristic designs we were told to expect from the sixties? All the last 50 years has brought is to bend the wing tips up :)

Oh I forgot, Concorde, the plane that was doomed by a jealous rest of the world.

Such a true statement about Concorde! Especially as the Americans never really got their SSPT to work or be financially viable.

Sadly the 'modern airliner' look is the best design. The shape allows ease of manufacture, maximises fuel/luggage/passenger space and is the most aerodynamic. The size of the cabin in Concorde says it all.

I love some of the crazy British prototype prop airliners of the past. Some crazy designs out there, but sadly with the increase in speed and need for efficiency, the sausage shape wins.

Concorde was doomed from the start. It could carry 100 passengers from London or Paris to New York, whereas a 747 (which is a design only a couple of years younger) could carry over three times that number not only from London or Paris to New York, but also from Frankfurt. Yes believe it or not Concorde couldnt cross the atlantic from Frankfurt.
