A Naval SAR Sea King training just off the North Cornwall coast earlier today. A sight not to be seen for much longer as due to be replaced by a civil contractor. Backways valley was the northern boundary of the Treligga Range.
A Sea King SAR from Culdriose on the pad at Treliske Hospital, Truro a few months before they passed out of service and were replaced by Coastguard aircraft based at Newquay/St Mawgan.

Finding a welcome new home is ex Royal Navy Sea King ZD 477 which had been awaiting it's fate at Bruntingthorpe for a few years. It's now thankfully been saved & delivered to the East Midlands Airport Aero Park who will hopefully display it later in the year after a bit of TLC.
Saw three Sea Kings today all with "United States of America" on them. I wonder what they were doing ? They were surprising low over our back garden, they were followed about an hour later by three Chinooks.
I have to say I thought they were green below the neckline but these looked to be more of a blue. A friend of ours also spotted Air Force One when it flew into Stansted and again surprisingly low and very noisy compared to the other jet airliners we get every day. We heard it but it was too low to see over the nearby roof tops.
No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
I had heard they did use UH-60 White Hawks but none of the three looked like one. I assume if a UH-60 was used all three must be of the same type and markings otherwise the decoy thing doesn't work. It does make you wonder how many potential MARINE ONE's there are.
The link below is a YouTube video taken somewhere in Kent but the view is almost exactly the same as we had so may have been near us. It looks to be on a mobile phone so the aircraft look further away due to the wide angle lens used in these devices. When we saw them the writing on the side was very clear.

Until I saw them land on the TV I thought that MARINE ONE was now a UH60.
MARINE 1 is any helicopter carrying POTUS.. They have two types in use VH-3D and VH-60N so if they had to put him in another type of Marine Corps helicopter for some reason then it would become MARINE 1.
