Yep, From the River Blackwater, a Browning identical to the one shown, and an eight foot belt of .303 in perfect condition still linked up. All from a Hurricane we dug from the river bed that was shot down in 1940.
The Browning we took back to Duxford where we cleaned it to working condition, but then to keep it on our firearms license I drove my Land Rover over the barrel when propped up against the kerb to bend it....broke my heart:)

Denis, why on earth did you simply not have it deactivated???

Image 8, SHB in oval stamp is Short and Harland Belfast part from a Stirling maybe? image one (1) may well be Vickers Wellington, were these based where you found them?

post two image three, 15C equipment drop & sea drop apparatus.

Those two items have been confusing me for some time now.
The part numbers do indicate Wellington, but the SHB inspectors' stamps are for Shorts & Harland, Belfast. :confused:

EDIT: I see you've modified your post while I was responding Denis.

The airfield item 1 was found on was used for scrapping Stirlings after WWII.
