Serco used to run the IT at my last company as well. Not very helpful or responsive. It seems they have fingers in many pies and will no doubt take over our defence as well as prisons and catering that they have already infiltrated.
I wonder what what happen if they got taken over by a foreign investment company, say from China or Russia, assuming some shareholders are not already from there.
No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
Serco took over the ATC contracts of IAL and since then have lost most of them in the UK; when the ytook over a contract, they would fire all the ATC staff on a friday and re-employ half of them the follwing monday. Not allowed nowadays.
They also took over one of the private ATC contractors in the USA, Barton ATC Inc.
Has Manston closed? If so where does MOD train all its firefighters???
I assumed it closed when the RAF moved out of the airfield but looking on ZoomEarth, there's an image from Oct 2018 showing lots of military airframes in the area where the school burning ground was so maybe it's still in operation.
I can actually answer that one, and I was perhaps being silly.
Manston is the MOD fire training establishment. Until Catterick closed Catterick was the RAF Fire Service training establishment, that means it was was where RAF firemen were trained. Manston was the Air Force Department fire training centre, I presume until MOD was formed in 64 it was called Air Ministry training centre.
