USAF rest and recuperation was created by REF
I have had the following email to me via my website. It is not something I can help with so I thought I'd see if AiX can excel as usual!
USAF rest and recuperation
I am trying to find out where I was evacuated to. I know it was near Thame in
Oxfordshire, a small viallage pub. Next door was a large house that had been
requsitioned for USAF personnel to recover from injuries, mainly burns. So
far I have had no luck.
Can you help?

How frustrating, I have seen a list of all USAAF rest homes used during the war, even the small ones. I can't recall where though. A pity as it it had photos of a lot of them.
If it was posted on AiX hopefully someone will put me out of my misery and also answer the original question.

I posted a reply to this yesterday and viewed it yet today it has vanished into the ether!
I opined that it was Towersey Manor since I recall that being adjacent (in the early '60s) to a pub and the locals mentioning a 'Yank' rest home.
PNK - The list of USAAF R&R houses is in the late Roger Freeman's Mighty Eighth War Manual but there is nothing associated with Thame in his list. (check the errata too!)

My only thought was of Station - 401 Haseley Court, about 4 miles south-west of Thame. Used by 48 Bomb Disposal Squadron, it could have had other functions. Though if I was recuperating, I could do without the odd explosion outside my window.
