Airfield/Aircraft Books WW2

Thanks for the suggestions/pointers. All now on my shopping list pending my next lottery win! My main interest is researching USAF Great Easton/RAF Great Dunmow. I work on a site adjacent to the old airfield, which previously housed a number of Nissen type huts, and I am keen to find out more about the background to the development and use of the site(s).

Any ideas where I can get contemporary airfield maps of Great Easton and of the area around CM6 1TH dating back to WW2 operational use?

I've just read "The Courage of the Small Hours, mainly about two crews who crashed near RAF Syerston

It was a good read & all the proceeds from the book go towards The RAF Benevolent Fund & Bomber Command Memorial
