I passed it over yesterday; to busy with other things; now I shall have to take a look......

EDIT: Time is getting away from me again.

A clue is the pre-war Bomb Store in the top RH corner of the image. The over stenciling suggests pre-war German recce over-flight.

So, an Expansion station before the main hangars were built....

I would never have got that (Manston). I never knew that it had a pre-war BS but I do now and, whats more, it survives almost completely intact albeit for peaceful purposes.

I've never figured out why there was a hangar near the bomb dump. It seem to be away from the main airfield.

There is a number of Expansion stations were the Bomb Store was sited adjacent to the tech site although - usually - it was on the other side of the airfield.
