I expect the first NIMBYs were around long before that - probably around the time that the "Locomotion" started running on the S & D railway.

oh way before that, I can just imagine the early Britons getting upset with the Druids; oi you cant build that damn stone cirlce here, think what it is doing to the value of our huts!

Id forgotten that the reason for no railway station in central London is that the landowners wouldnt allow a station there, hence all the stations on the outskirts of central London.
