This airfield has a "down-under" connection and at one time went by a different name.

Correct..... it was originally known as Minchinhampton Aerodrome but was renamed Aston Down in 1938 at the request of the residents of Minchinhampton who feared the proximity would cause a fall in the value of their houses.
