Ah! I did guess right. When I was at Stowell Park looking at the old US Hospital site I got chatting to someone from the Vesty estate who said they owned and old airfield and showed a photo similar to yours.
I guess it's might turn. Probably won't last long What I will say is that the airfield looked nothing like this by the end of the war.

Wild guess, i am sure i have seen this image but cant place where, so just to throw in a feeler on the west side off the country, as its not east, early Shawbury?
