We have one of the modern ones - it looks a bit like a yellow payphone but without the ability to accept coins - in the archive.
I might be misunderstanding you, but these ones are not as big as a payphone would be, thay are similar size and layout to what WW2nut is showing just moire modern kit and in hard yellow shell.

Yes I know what you mean now, I was thinking of something completely different. Will get a photo next time I am down there.
British Rail also use them they used to be a common site on signal columms, they were originally made by Standard Telephones which were i believe taken over by AEI i dont think they are addaptable to BT use as they used to work on a line & earth system.
This reminds me, when me and REF were mooching around one of the HAS at Alconbury recently, we found one of these but with the old-style rotary dial. In the same shelter there was another with the more modern push-button keypad like the ones above.
