I nipped in to 3005 this afternoon to get some photos of the telebrief board which I'll post shortly.
Annoyingly, someone's had the headset away at some point in the last seven days.

EDIT: Sorry, the photos didn't come out very well, certainly too poor to post. I'll have to try again another day with a camera that actually works...

I would hope many of the other HASs still have theirs.

Perhaps they also still have their headsets too (still bloody annoyed over that...)

The circular sockets left and right of the volume control match those in the headset cabinet.

Looking at Richard's photo again, it's obvious the headset was hardwired and didn't use the little round sockets:



So perhaps something else lived in there with the cans, a microphone or two maybe?

They are standard GPO/Post Office Telecommunications/BT units.

The one with a dial (Dial, Automatic, No.21) is a regular Telephone No.745 "Weatherphone", introduced in 1968 for outdoor installations.
The one with the pushbuttons is a later No.745P, introduced in November 1983.

These are basically a weatherproof version of the old 60s-70s plastic 700-series household phones, and were manufactured by Ericsson and Plessey for GPO/POT/BT.
