Camera Q

Just curious, what kind of camera are you guys (Noel, Richard, & others) using? I am guessing a digital SLR. Any brand recommendations or features to look for?

Since October 2006 I have been using a Nikon D70s, which after my trip to Stafford last week is now being repaired!!

On the extremely rare occasions that the world's worst photographer takes any pictures ,I borrow my wife's nice digital camera(Fuji S5500) but mostly , I get her to take the pictures.

Canon S75 point and shoot. The older stuff was taken using my trusty Olympus OM1

Nikon D40x with either an 18-55mm, a 28-100mm (rescued from a "normal" Nikon SLR, so manual focus only!), or a 55-200mm. I'm after a 70-300mm and perhaps a second body when cash permits - if ever!

Haven't had mine long so still getting used to all the twiddley bits (technical term, that is).

I use a Nikon D40X with two lenses 18-55mm and 55mm-200, I am thinking of buying a 2X teleconverter, can anyone advise me if they have such an attachment?

I am well pleased with mine..............

Old and only 5mio pixels but outstanding pictures up to A4 format... don't need more !

Good little camera isn't it? I've just had a ferret around the interweb and the Nikon product appears to have been updated but it certainly doesn't come in at budget prices! I've only looked at a couple of sites selling them and they seem to be around the £180 - £200+ price band. I suppose hunting through a few price comparison sites would see a good deal turn up. It certainly looks like something I might be tempted by at some point in the future. I used to use a 1.5x converter on an old SLR back in the 80's and it was ideal at airshows without going to the expense of a huge lens at the time. I'm still thrashing away trying find a reasonably-priced 70-300 mm.

Nikon F70 film, Nikon D50 and Pentax Optio 550 and 750z
My Optios are 'old' 5mp digital compacts, but I have never seen any other compact digi come close in image quality, even having better colour depth than my Nikon digi SLR. Aparently one reason for this is companies are trying to pack in too many mps for the processor to affectively deal with, this can lead to flat images. This is possibly what Olympusman is findng also.
I take my Optios everywhere and are ideal for airfield and museums work.
All my SLRs have been Nikon, I was very lucky when I was younger as my father is a photographer, so having access and taking pics with a decent camera wasn't a problem.

Nikon D50 DSLR with a Nikon 18 - 55 mm and a Sigma 70 - 300mm lens. Great camera, really pleased with the pictures I get.
