MMM? I may expose my ignorance of which I posses a great deal but why does one assume them to be mines not Buoys ?Interestingly apart from the Shanklin example in all the others the Coin slot plate is welded in position how on Earth is the money got Out ? Not by removing the top plate and turning upside down I assume.

BRITISH MINES

I went to a conference about the Northern Barrage, there are some books about it on archive.org

I think it was said that WWII mines were virtually the same as WWI mines but can't be sure.

Interesting sculpture in the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre in Portsmouth

Gunwharf used to be the home of the stone frigate, HMS Vernon, the torpedo and mine warfare school

Looks rather smaller than the normal sea mines
