I find it amazing, what with the destruction of most of the rest of the Works, that any sign of the "flying ground" is still visible in this 2007 picture, let alone part of the circle itself....

Here is a picture from July 1930 of Haldon/Teignmouth aerodrome showing a landing circle. The occasion was the Haldon Air Rally which seems to have attracted a fair number of aircraft.
The circle would have been in the SE corner of the field close to the B3192. I saw no sign of the circle (or much else ) when I visited the site back in November...but wasn't specifically looking (for circles)at that time ...will have another look when the weather improves a little.(Present wx is Wind SW 25kts gusting 40, heavy rain 8/8 cloud at about 800 ft.-- going nowhere today!)
