It was nothing to do with Old Warden. The closest aircraft to a Rapide at Shuttleworth yesterday was the Dragonfly. Not my picture its just for illustration.

I suspect it was that aircraft as those are the colours. We see it most weeks flying north/south and vice versa. I will try and check the registration next time. My knowledge of pre-war types is not good!.
EDIT: It almost certainly was the Dragonfly as it is based down the road from us at Biggin Hill.

Drive-in De-Havilland 100th Centenary Air show at Old Warden. Of note was the commentary team getting confused over the missiles produced by De-Havilland. Blue Steel should of being Blue Streak and also mentioning the Dark Knight rocket, which of course should of being Black Knight which wasn't even made by De-Havilland/ Someone should buy them a copy of "A Vertical Empire"

Tomorrows display at Old Warden unsurprisingly is cancelled due to the weather -
"With great regret, we are cancelling our Racing Celebration Drive-In Air Display tomorrow Sunday 4th October 2020.
The weather forecast has continued to deteriorate and the conditions on our grass paddocks and taxiways are very sodden. The ground conditions may be unsafe for the vehicles and the wind conditions will limit almost all the flying. Ticket holders will be refunded the full price of their tickets within 14 working days and we hope to have a more successful event next year."
