Thought this might be of interest to those of you who play IL2:

A group of guys making a HUGE theatre map of southern england/northern france including as many actual airfields accurately modelled. You'll have to poke around in some of the "sticked" threads for pictures but some of them are pretty amazing!

Interesting aerodrome hangar and watch office models, they look very Continental to me and not very English!

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

I've been following their progress, some very big improvements have been made. With such a large project 'artistic licence' will always play a part, I guess they can always improve the buildings later.

FS9/FSX will always be the best platforms for airfield modelling though, just a shame they are set in the modern worls, I have more tha enough of that every day

btw whats a merkin??

The best way OneEightbit, is for them to join this forum and we (me) will be only too happy to help and advise, rather than go on their site with all guns blazing - it would not go down well.

Had me in stitches that one!

Do you really want to know what a merkin is?
Think of why President Merkin Muffly is so named in Dr Strangelove, and do a google search of the word!
