The best way OneEightbit, is for them to join this forum and we (me) will be only too happy to help and advise, rather than go on their site with all guns blazing - it would not go down well.
Hello all, I am 352ndBooze from the 352ndVFG and I just stumbled upon this wonderful website by accident this morning while I was attempting some research. Never anticipated to discover a topic regarding our map. We would so much welcome any help you could provide. We've been working on our map for over a year now and have alot of good information but there is still much to be discovered. As you can see we've been using the standard models as provided by the sim as none are currently available for our map, however we've just recently brought a 3d modeler on board who is just now starting to create proper theatre objects for introduction to the map. The first model being a Type C Hangar which we are impatiently waiting for.
We actually have 3 maps in the works.
The first one here is our 1940 BoB map below. Once completed we will do a 1943 - 1945 scenario with this same area and later we are planning a Big version as seen at the bottom.

Again we would very much welcome any thoughts and direction. We are currently working on RAF Martlesham Heath, and am wondering if the Station was all grass during The BoB or were the runways already in place. Any aerial photos would be appreciated if available. Thanks in advance for any assistance you could provide.
Hi 352nd and welcome.
You may have to explain things a bit, is this a download for IL2 etc?
Hello Mawganmad, and thank you for the welcome. Would be glad to explain, this is a Map Mod (add0n) for IL2 Sturmovik 4.09 that will be released to the community once completed. This is a community project so it will be a free release to everyone to enjoy. It is planned in several phases the first being our current version of the Battle of Britain, 1940 Map. We are doing our best to get it as accurate as possible with the help of lots of people, however we realize it is a large feat to build all of these airfields historically and are very excited to come in contact with others of like interest. We would appreciate any pointers and info that could help us get our map as historically accurate as possible. We are in a compromise situation between historical accuracy and what the game engine is capable of but feel we can come up with some good stuff with a little elbow grease. Our map Team is comprised of members of the IL2 352nd Virtual Fighter Group (have been together since 2000) and 3 other outside members wanting to contribute to the community. We are also associated with the 352nd Fighter Group Association to whom our 43-45 map is a dedicated to. I apologize in advance as I'm used to communicating in a flight sim environment so if any clarification is need please ask.
I'm actually looking forward to when this gets released as I purchased IL2 for about €7 a month or so back and been playing it pretty consistently.
I've been dying fro a decent BoB add-on as I'm bored to death now flying endless boring escort missions for B17s or landing Spit's on carriers in the pacific

Hi OneEighthBit, hopefully this will fit the bill and will be a map you will enjoy. This is a 1:1 scale map and we are looking to bring out the life and activities of 1940 in the BoB.
