RAF Museum Hendon vs Airfields RSP's

I haven't had plans from the RAFM for quite a few years and those up to them were A3 photocopies, usually three to six to make up the whole plan. Maybe I didn't ask for digital copies?

I recall them being quite expensive (for me) at the time so used to buy one a fortnight from Motor Books in London. There are a few that appear on eBay but I have a large stock that I fished out about ten years ago when searching for airfield bombing ranges. I assume they picked out the ones that could easily be cleaned up as they looked crisp an clean?

I would love to know the process they went through especially on the reproduction of Guy Gibson's Log book.

Yes that is an interesting point because when I viewed that log book in 2004 you had to look at it in a small room overseen by a member of staff.

The room where you feel guilty just opening a file? My stomach wouldn't stop rumbling when I was in there!

Just got the RSP's I ordered on Wednesday, although I am waiting for the CO of Thorney Island to approve the release of the 1935 plan. They were all from the aperture cards and although looked a bit feint could be enlarged enough to read most of the print. Shame they didn't show what I was after.
