I do not use Adobe products either, I use a freeware pdf reader and writer called 'Nitro' and all works well for me.
Might be worth a try?

I'm using Nitro as well Denis.

It is Foxit causing the problem. Just tried Nitro and everything is fine. Not sure what to do about Foxit as it has been 100% to date. Remember trying Nitro a year or so ago and found a problem or two, but then that's software for you .

PDF Factory is very good as well Grahm we use it at work.

Using Firefox i.e and Adobe , no problems thanks for the links.

Just replaced Foxit (2.3) with version 5. Heeded all the warnings about all the extras it tried to install. I note that the folder size has increased from 8 meg to 36 Meg. That's the price of progress but fortunately well short of the latest version of Adobloat which is stated to be 320 Meg .

However I can now not only view files without logos, version 5 will actually read them to me (should I every want to listen to this dreadful voice). Now that is progress.
