I have just got a copy today, many thanks to David Thompson for sorting this out.

At first glance the cd is good, it looks searchable but I haven't yet tried!

I can't see why it was not published as a hard copy book, it would have been much better than a pdf on a cd. Its not even excessivly long, around 400 pages of pdf if you include the introduction, acknowledgements and sources. Put in to a book I'd imagine about 25 - 300 pages, not a lot considdering the size of some books that have been published. A lot of work has gone into it, but I think it is expensive for what is essentially a pdf file in a fancy box.

Just a suggestion.

These days it's possible to get books printed as "Print on Demand" through companies like "Lulu" ( www.lulu.com/ ). Basically you do all the layout, etc. yourself and save your "book" as a ready-for-print PDF file (Most PDF publishing software has this option). Upload it to the site, you can get a pukka ISBN number and then your book is available to be purchase either directly or through companies like Amazon and even through libraries (who will in turn order it from Lulu).

The benefit is - you don't have to do a "run" and have stock. The books are digitally printed and bound when ordered (its an automatic process).
